Codsall is recorded in the Doomsday Book of 1086 as having a population of six people, today the population of the Parish is around 8,000.

The main shopping area around The Square has an excellent range of shops, cafes, restaurants, public houses,a bank, and building society. A doctor’s surgery, dental practice and library are also located close to the village centre.
There are three primary/first schools, a middle school and a high school within Codsall as well as two pre schools.
The rural location of Codsall is still associated with a mixture of arable and livestock farming as well as substantial areas of land now given over to leisure use, particularly equine.
